UNIFORM FITTINGS:

If you missed fittings, please get together with a cheerleader who owns a uniform to be sized.  This is needed to send to the Varsity Brand Rep Helen Price.

Practice will remain on Wednesdays from 3p - 6p. Excluding the first 2 weeks of Junes.

Please plan for practice on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday during the summer in the morning from 8a -1130a. Beginning 6/15/2010

They all did a wonderful job at camp!! They were taught a lesson about RESPECT and hopefully bonded with each other to have a great season.

If you wish to purchase the NEW sweatshirts, the price is $45 (Frosh & New cheerleaders get it automatically, because it's included in the price of your invoice.).  Also available in limited supply is the Black zebra sweatshirts from last year.

Youth Cheer Camp from JULY 29-31 from 5:30-7:30 at MC's stadium.  The cost is $50 per participant. This is one of our bigger fundraiser for the year. Let's make it successful!!

 LADDER PAINTING PARTY "UPDATE"

Was a success for those who came.  The ladders turned out really nice and Thank You to Ms. Fern and Ty Ty for taking pictures.  Also, to little Miss Sharon for her artistic ability, who helped a lot of the girls with their names.    **THANKS**

1-Cheer Camp will take place Aug. 6-9 at UCSD. The cost per child is $333 You will be notified, if we haven't received a payment from you.

Camp attendance is mandatory for all cheerleaders.

2-Camp Gear is being selected and the cost will be $140.

Proper attire for practice will be enforced starting 6/23. Please remember to wear athletic shoes, no jewelry (ie earrings, strings, rings), shorts, and a t-shirt. 

Only cashiers checks or money orders are acceptable forms of payment until school resumes in the fall.

ERROR IN COACHES FEES - IT'S $75 NOT $60.

(6/24)Cheer Handbook contracts must be turned in on Wednesday 6/3. If your contract isn't turned in by the start of 6/23 practice your child will be asked to leave.  Sorry.

Camp Gear forms must be turned in on 6/3, so the items can be ordered.  The sizes are ADULT xs, s, m, l, xl.  Please make sure your child is putting down the correct size. We're still missing several forms

BREAKING NEWS REGARDING ALUMNI ADAM FROM AMERICAN IDOL

MC will not allow any student to miss class regarding American Idol. All activities will be scheduled before or after school.  

All squads (08-09 & 09-10) have been requested to show our spirit at the "SEAU'S" in Mission Valley at 7p on Wednesday night 5/20.  More details to follow.  When Adam wins, we will be invited back to Fox 5 for a follow up spirit interview on Thursday 5/21. Remember to wear your full uniform or red shorts & white shorts with 1 pony and a white bow. ***ALL NUMBERS WILL BE POSTED TODAY.***  FUTHERMORE, we will post  the numbers for those cheerleaders we would like to interview in more detail as Call Backs.  They need to meet with the coaching staff on Monday 3/30 in Z9 at 2:45p  The rest of the numbers will be posted according to the squad you will be cheering for this season.

***Thank You 2009 Seniors**** 

The Cheer Clinic will be ran by our very own graduating seniors and it starts next week 3/23 - 3/26 from 5p - 8p. Final tryouts will be Friday starting at 3p in S11 and we ask that the ladies show up wearing red shorts and a white tshirt.  

Please wear shorts, a fitted shirt, and gym shoes (no vans or chucks, please) It is very important to take off all jewelry. The cost of the cheer clinic is $20.

MINUTES from the PARENT MEETING

Here are the topics that were covered at the cheer meeting of 4-2-09

1-Cheer Camp will take place Aug. 6-9 at UCSD. The cost per child is $333 which must be paid ASAP.

Camp attendance is mandatory for all cheerleaders.

2-Camp Gear is being selected and the cost will be $120.

Optional gear will be available for purchase throughout the season.

3-For cheerleaders interested in being captain send email to mchscheer@pacbell.net  and  the expectations are:

a. Binder

b. Plan bonding events

c. Plan fun activities

d. Attend biweekly or monthly meeting

e. Develop plan to notify team of upcoming events

f. Work with banquet committee on end of season coaches’ appreciation ideas and banquet

4-New cheerleaders can purchase CD with cheers and music for $10 to practice with. Paper with motions also available.

Coaches may also send paper home with cheerleaders who need additional practice on motions and cheers.

5-Please help brainstorm for events that will promote new spirit for team, parents and school at games and throughout the year.  One suggestion was to have a spirit section just for the kids to get them to the games.  Also a suggestion to see if students can get into the game at a discount to get more kids to attend.  We would also like to see more parent participation.   

6-Spring Break Schedule:

All Squads-Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 12:00 to 3:00p most likely in the gym

If parents have previous plans for spring break please advise coaches that your child will not be able to attend.

7-Continuing practice for Freshman and New Cheerleaders:

Wednesdays 3:00 to 5:00 through the end of school year.

8-Transportation fee will most likely be $90 per child and will be collected at beginning of next school year (August) once the amount is confirmed.

9-Coaches have the option from time to time to reward those cheerleaders who go above and beyond, have a helpful and positive attitude at practices, games or events without prior announcement or incentive. This will help recognize cheerleaders who are doing these things throughout the season because they are committed rather than because they were expecting something.

10-Payments can be made via credit cards by contacting Sarah Wong at 858-442-7814. Print forms from the cheer forms tab to the left.  Camp is $333 and will be due as soon as the squad is named. Thanks.

Please budget for approximate $1000 in expenses for returning cheerleaders next season. Thanks!!!

Any Unpaid balances will be added to your school account.  If you are a senior, you will not receive your cap & gown. All UNPAID BALANCES should have been cleared by March 1. If you have any questions, please contact Jamie or Tonga.

You WILL receive a Notice in the mail from the finance office.  Phone calls from Ms. Jamie regarding any outstanding balance should be returned ASAP to avoid further fees.  Please don't be offended, the cheer program is self funded and the budget is given up front.  Thanks!!

The cheer uniform replacement  items ordered (ie, skirts, bodyliners, sweat bottoms/jacket, shells) were not billed on your original invoice. EMAILS WERE/WILL BE SENT OUT WITH YOUR BALANCE IF SOMETHING IS OWED.  Printouts will be available upon request. Please make payments in full with  Checks made payable to MCHS Cheer.

A Very Special "Thank You" to the Banquet Committee. Ms. Jamie, Ms. Laura, Mr. Bill, Ms. Connie.  It takes a village to put all of this together and I appreciate you more than you know!!

Also, a big shout out to all of the Parents who let us be a part of your daughter's High School experience.

I will truly miss all of the seniors Arnie, Anjeanette, Alexa, Katie, Kayneth, Raven, Monica, Sam and Heather. Good Luck an Keep it Positive!!!
